“A Young Man Gave Me Watches Worth $2 Million” — Pastor David Ibiyeomie

Pastor David Ibiyeomie, founder and presiding pastor of Salvation Ministries, has drawn attention once again, this time for the extraordinary value of his wristwatch collection.

Recent online reports highlighted a curated selection of the pastor’s timepieces, with estimated prices ranging from N20 million to N140 million. The collection includes notable luxury watches such as a Franck Muller Master Square (N20m), Audemars Piguet Royal Oak Offshore (N30m), Rolex Day-Date 40 (N69m), Piaget Altiplano Ultimate (N76m), and a diamond-encrusted Rolex Day-Date 40 Oyster (N143m).

In a recent sermon that has gone viral, Pastor Ibiyeomie revealed that the watches circulating online represent only a fraction of his collection. He explained that a young congregant once gifted him watches valued at $2 million, describing the donation as divinely inspired.

“The young man told me God instructed him to give these to me. I’ve not even worn half of them. The ones people see are just small compared to the rest,” he said.

The revelation has sparked divided reactions online. Supporters argue that, given his position, he is entitled to display wealth. Critics, however, question the ethical implications, especially in light of the economic struggles faced by some church members, and challenge the veracity of the donation.

Social media users expressed a range of opinions: some noted the irony of flaunting luxury while followers face financial hardship, while others defended the pastor as a provider of spiritual guidance who naturally receives material rewards.
