22-Year-Old Woman Allegedly Stabs Boyfriend to Death Over Phone Dispute in Port Harcourt
A 22-year-old woman has allegedly stabbed her boyfriend to death during a dispute over a phone in Port Harcourt, Rivers State. The tragic incident was shared by Rivers journalist Allwell Ene in a Facebook post on Wednesday, April 2, 2025.
According to reports, the young woman had taken her boyfriend’s phone to attend a party, which later led to a confrontation. The deceased, a 24-year-old electrician, reportedly returned home to find his phone missing and went to his girlfriend’s house to retrieve it. Upon arrival, he discovered she had not yet returned and waited until 10 p.m. before leaving.
The next morning, he returned to her house to confront her about her whereabouts. An argument broke out, which escalated into physical violence as the man allegedly began assaulting her. In the heat of the altercation, the woman reportedly grabbed a knife and stabbed him in the stomach, resulting in his death.
Friends of the deceased were seen carrying his picture and seeking financial support to bury him. Meanwhile, the suspect has been arrested and is currently facing trial.
