2027: You’ll Soon Know My Anointed Candidate — Wike Tells Supporters
The Minister of the Federal Capital Territory, Nyesom Wike, has told his supporters in Rivers State to pay close attention to his political movements ahead of the 2027 governorship election.
Wike made the remarks on Wednesday while addressing supporters of both the All Progressives Congress (APC) and the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) in Ahoada East Local Government Area of the state.
He advised supporters to observe the actions and alignments of local government chairmen, as well as APC and PDP leaders loyal to him, saying these would indicate his preferred candidate for the 2027 governorship race.
According to Wike, the direction taken by these party officials would clearly show where his support lies when the time comes.
He also called on his supporters to back President Bola Tinubu’s re-election bid.
Speaking on the state election, Wike said discussions would continue, adding that his supporters should closely follow where key political figures around him are moving.
Wike has previously stated that he would not support the re-election of Governor Siminalayi Fubara, his former political ally, in 2027.
