2027: Fourth Tinubu Minister Resigns
Said Alkali has stepped down from his role as Minister of Transportation to pursue the 2027 governorship race in Gombe State.
His resignation was confirmed on Tuesday through a statement issued by Umar Jibril, his Special Assistant on Media and Publicity. According to the statement, the decision aligns with a presidential directive requiring political appointees seeking elective office to leave their positions on or before March 31.
In his resignation letter, Alkali expressed appreciation to the President for the opportunity to serve in the federal cabinet and highlighted progress recorded in the transportation sector during his tenure.
The statement also confirmed that the President accepted the resignation and acknowledged his service to the administration.
