2021 Council Elections: Lagos PDP constitutes committees

The People’s Democratic Party (PDP) Lagos State Chapter ably led by Engr Adedeji Doherty has released list of members who would serve in various committees towards the forthcoming 2021 Lagos State Local Council Elections.

You would recall that the Lagos State Independent Electoral Commission (LASIEC) has scheduled Saturday 24th July, 2021 for elections into the offices of Chairmen and Councillors in the 20 Local Government and 37 Local Council Development Areas in the state.

In a swift move to ensure success at the elections, the Lagos State PDP Chairman, Engr Adedeji Doherty and members of the state executive committee have come up with 3 committees.

These committees are:
-The Election Committee
-The Screening Committee and -The Committee on LASIEC.

The Election Committee is headed by Arch Hon Setonji Koshedo a one-time State Chairman of the Party. He was also a member of the House of Representatives in the 5th National Assembly, where he served in various capacities, notably as the Chairman House Committee on Airforce. He was also at some point elected by President Goodluck Ebele Jonathan as member of the Nigerian Investment Promotion Commission.

-Hon Rita Orji – Secretary
-Mr Soji Orioye – Asst Secretary
-Hon Wahab Owokoniran – Member
-Hon Mutiu Shadimu – Member
-Mr Mufutau Babalola – Member
-Mrs Aina Soares – Member
-Tolani Animashaun – Member
-Dipo Ogunshakin – Member

The Screening Committee is headed by Barrister Folake Philips who presently serves as the State Auditor. She is an astute Politician who was a former member of the Alliance for Democracy (AD), she is also a very active member of the Afenifere, a socio-cultural organization for Yoruba People of Nigeria.

-Alhaja Babs Olorunkemi – Member
-Engr Hammed Oduborisha – Member

-Dayo Fagbemi – Member
-Mr Jelili Alebiosu – Member
-Tinu Mabadeje – Member
-Williams Awilla Banigo – Member

The Committee on LASIEC comprises of the State Chairman – Engr Adedeji Doherty as Committee Chairman and Prince Muiz Dosunmu as Secretary.

It was also made known that other committees would be put in place in due course.
