2021 Council Elections: Doherty advises aspirants to embark on aggressive door to door campaign
The Lagos State Chairman of the People’s Democratic Party, Engr Adedeji Doherty has advised all PDP aspirants in the forthcoming 2021 local government council elections to embark on aggressive campaigns to include house to house drives, rolling out of posters, banners and all necessary publicity materials that could sell them to the electorate.
Engr Doherty called on all the aspirants not to rely solely on the social media campaigns which can not be ruled out completely but isn’t enough to achieve the required success at the polls, as records have revealed that elections are not won on social media.
He also advised members of the House of Representatives Party Leaders and House of Assembly members to solidly support aspirants of their choice with a view to giving them all the necessary support that could lead them to victory in the forthcoming elections.
He reiterated that elections in Lagos State are winnable if all hands are strategically in place.
He stated that the party’s screening exercise would commence immediately hence all aspirants should gear up to showcase themselves with the ultimate view of promoting the party.
In the same vein, Engr Doherty stated that members of the party should be reminded that positions into the various committees in the party are not the exclusive rights of any groups or caucuses in the party.
He extended the hands of fellowship to any member of the party who wishes to be a member of any of the committees in the party.
He said such persons should reach out to the office of the state Chairman stating their names, voters card number, wards, LGA, telephone numbers and their committee of interest.
The Chairman finally confirmed as false the rumor going around stating that the LAISEC Forms had closed.
