14-Year-Old Boy Beheaded for Alleged Money Ritual in Oyo State
A tragic incident has shocked the Olorisaoko community in Akinyele Local Government Area of Oyo State, where a 14-year-old boy, Malik Kareem, was reportedly beheaded for ritual purposes.
The incident, which occurred on Saturday evening in Ibadan, has left the community in distress. Malik had just completed his final subject for the West Africa Examination Council (WAEC) at Iyana Community Grammar School, Olode, Moniya, Ibadan, before he was lured into a deadly trap.
According to reports, Malik and three of his friends sought the services of a Muslim cleric, who is now on the run, for a money ritual. Unbeknownst to Malik, his friends had conspired with the cleric to sacrifice him as part of the ritual.
A family member recounted the harrowing experience, stating, “I was at home when one of my brothers rushed in to tell me what had happened. We went to the scene immediately, only to discover that the cleric had fled, and Malik’s body was found decapitated.”
The victim’s head had been burned, and his body was discovered in a pool of blood at the cleric’s residence. It is believed that Malik was strangled, beheaded, and his remains cremated as part of the ritual.
Following the discovery, enraged youths from the community reportedly set the cleric’s house on fire.
The Oyo State Police Command has launched an investigation into the incident. Police spokesperson Adewale Osifeso confirmed that efforts are ongoing to apprehend the suspects and assured the public that further updates will be provided as the investigation progresses.
