“Your Allowance Will Soon Go Up” – NYSC DG Assures Corps Members
The Director General of the National Youth Service Corps (NYSC), Brigadier General Yushau Ahmed, has assured corps members that their monthly stipends will soon be increased.
This announcement was made on Saturday while addressing 2,762 corps members of Batch B, Stream One at the Ogun State NYSC Orientation Camp in Sagamu. Brigadier General Ahmed stated that the increase in the monthly allowance would take effect once the ongoing negotiations regarding the minimum wage are concluded.
“Your allowance will go up as soon as the ongoing minimum wage negotiation is finalized. The government recognizes how special you are and will not overlook your contributions,” he affirmed.
In addition to the good news about the allowance, Brigadier General Ahmed reminded corps members of the camp rules, particularly the prohibition of posting camp activities on social media. He disclosed that three corps members were expelled for violating this rule.
“Remember, you are not allowed to post camp activities online or on social media. Three of your colleagues were decamped for breaking these rules,” he warned.
