“Young people should listen to me and allow me more time” – President Tinubu Appeals to Protesters
President Bola Tinubu has urged Nigerians to delay a proposed ‘EndBadGovernance’ protest scheduled for early next month. The demonstration, planned to take place between August 1 and 10, aims to address the increasing cost of living and widespread economic hardships.
The impending protest has heightened security concerns, prompting a state of alert among police and other security agencies.
During a meeting with journalists on Tuesday, July 23, Information Minister Mohammed Idris conveyed President Tinubu’s request for the protest organizers to postpone their plans. Idris emphasized that the President is committed to addressing the public’s grievances and has asked for patience as his administration works towards economic improvements.
Idris stated, “The President does not see the necessity for the protest at this time. He has urged the organizers to wait for the government’s response to their concerns and believes in the ability of his administration to bring about positive change.”
