“You Know You’re Not Above the Law” – Joe Igbokwe Slams Sowore Over Remarks on Buhari’s Birthday
A chieftain of the All Progressives Congress (APC), Joe Igbokwe, has strongly criticized activist and former presidential candidate, Omoyele Sowore, over his comments regarding former President Muhammadu Buhari’s birthday.
Sowore, in a post on his official Facebook page, argued that Buhari did not deserve a happy birthday due to what he described as widespread corruption and economic decline during the former president’s administration. He accused Buhari’s eight-year tenure of being defined by economic destruction, looting, and massacres. Sowore wrote, “Considering the economic destruction, looting and massacres that occurred during his disastrous eight-year tenure, Muhammadu Buhari deserves NO happiness on his birthday.”
Igbokwe, angered by Sowore’s remarks, took to the comment section to express his disapproval. He described Sowore’s statement as “unbelievable” and “unacceptable,” warning that such remarks were crossing the line.
“Sowore is turning to something else, and he knows he is not above the law. This is unacceptable and unbelievable,” Igbokwe wrote. He added, “This is total madness, and I hope he realizes the magnitude of what he is doing. This is madness taken too far in the name of Alutta continua.”
