“You Hobnob With Opposition at Night, Claim APC by Day” – Bwala Fires Back at Ndume Over “Maga Dog” Remark

Daniel Bwala, Special Adviser to President Bola Tinubu on Policy and Communications, has fired back at Senator Ali Ndume of Borno South following a disparaging remark made by the lawmaker during a recent television interview. Ndume, appearing on Channels TV, referred to Bwala as a “maga dog,” sparking backlash on social media and political circles.

In a strongly worded response posted on his X (formerly Twitter) handle, Bwala accused Ndume of political double standards, claiming the senator associates with opposition figures in private while presenting himself as a loyal member of the ruling All Progressives Congress (APC) in public.

“You allegedly meet and hobnob with coalition for a wild goose chase at night, and pretend to be an APC member during the day,” Bwala wrote. He went on to describe Ndume’s behavior as driven by frustration, stating, “Your frustration is aging you by the day.”

Bwala also made reference to Ndume’s exclusion from a recent awards ceremony recognizing notable figures from Southern Borno, suggesting it was a reflection of his conduct and public perception. “No wonder, Southern Borno excluded you from the list of honorees,” he said.

Further criticizing the senator’s alleged intolerance for opposing views, Bwala accused him of sending associates to issue threats whenever challenged. He also recalled moments when Ndume allegedly sought his support, including during a suspension by then-Senate President Bukola Saraki and in a bid for the Senate Presidency. According to Bwala, Ndume once waited two hours at his law office seeking assistance.

Despite the escalating rhetoric, Bwala noted that he refrained from matching the senator’s choice of language out of respect for his age.
