“You Have No Respect” — Yul Edochie Blasts Rufai Oseni
Nollywood actor Yul Edochie has criticised Arise Television anchor Rufai Oseni in a video circulating widely on social media.
In the clip, Edochie questioned the broadcaster’s conduct on and off air, referencing a past incident in Lagos where Oseni was reportedly stopped for driving on a Bus Rapid Transit (BRT) lane.
“Is this not the same Rufai Oseni that was caught driving on BRT lane?” Edochie said.
He alleged that when confronted by officials, Oseni reacted angrily and threatened to contact the Lagos State governor rather than apologising. According to Edochie, an apology only followed after a video of the encounter surfaced online.
“If not because somebody had a video, you could not even apologise. If there was no video, what would have happened?” he asked.
Edochie also accused the Arise Television presenter of being disrespectful to guests during interviews, arguing that hosts should ensure those invited onto programmes feel at ease.
“How can you invite somebody and make the guest uncomfortable?” he said, adding that telling a guest to leave the studio if uncomfortable was inappropriate.
The actor further criticised what he described as Oseni’s confrontational approach on national television.
Defending Bola Ahmed Tinubu, Edochie urged critics to show respect to the President and allow his administration time to deliver on its mandate.
As of press time, Oseni has not publicly responded to the remarks.
