“Rufai Oseni Should Make Haste and Reconcile With Me” – Umahi
Minister of Works, Dave Umahi, has called on Arise Television anchor, Rufai Oseni, to reconcile with him, saying such a move would allow him to explain infrastructural issues from a technical perspective.
Umahi made the remark during an end-of-year press briefing, where he accused Oseni of consistently failing to acknowledge what he described as positive achievements of the current administration. He argued that criticism should be constructive and based on facts, rather than dismissing government efforts outright.
According to the minister, when criticisms ignore clear outcomes, they lose credibility. He stated that repeatedly disputing what he considers obvious results, while forcefully challenging an expert in infrastructure, suggests a deeper misunderstanding of the subject matter.
Umahi said he remains open to constructive engagement and believes reconciliation would provide an opportunity to clarify perceived shortcomings in infrastructure development. He added that he plans to appear publicly to address the issues and offer what he described as an advance lecture on infrastructural matters, stressing the importance of such dialogue.
