Yoruba Community in Idemili Visits Engr. Eric Anyamene, Commends Inclusive Community Support

Members of the Yoruba community resident in Idemili North and South Federal Constituency on Saturday paid a courtesy visit to Engr. Eric Nnamdi Anyamene at his country home in Obosi, Anambra State, in what observers say reflects his growing engagement across different communities in the area.

The delegation, made up of leaders and members of the Yoruba community living in Idemili, said the visit was to appreciate Engr. Anyamene for the support and goodwill he has extended to them over time as residents in the constituency.

Speaking during the visit, leaders of the group commended his inclusive approach to community relations and acknowledged the role he has played in fostering peaceful coexistence among different ethnic groups living in Idemili.

“We came to appreciate Engr. Eric Anyamene for the good works he has been doing and the support he has continued to extend to members of our community,” one of the leaders said. “We have experienced his openness and his willingness to relate with everyone living in Idemili, regardless of background.”

The delegation noted that the activities of the Eric Nnamdi Anyamene Foundation (ENAF) have reached many residents across the constituency, describing the initiatives as impactful and reflective of a leader who understands the needs of ordinary people.

Responding, Engr. Anyamene thanked the visitors for the gesture and reaffirmed his commitment to promoting unity and peaceful coexistence among all residents of Idemili North and South.

“Idemili belongs to all of us who live and work here,” he said. “Peaceful coexistence and mutual respect among different communities are essential for development. I appreciate this visit and the relationship we continue to build together.”

In recent months, ENAF has carried out several interventions across the constituency, including educational support programmes such as free JAMB registration for hundreds of students and other community-focused initiatives.

Political observers in Idemili note that the growing interactions between Engr. Anyamene and various groups within the constituency form part of wider consultations ahead of the 2027 Idemili North and South Federal Constituency election. While he has yet to formally declare his intention to contest, his expanding grassroots engagement has continued to generate conversations about a possible bid.
