Withheld Salaries: SSANU, NASU Declare Seven-Day Warning Strike
The Senior Staff Association of Nigerian Universities (SSANU) and the Non-Academic Staff Union (NASU) have jointly declared a seven-day warning strike, effective Monday.
The unions have taken this bold step to address the pressing issue of the Federal Government withholding four months’ worth of salaries owed to their members following the 2022 nationwide strike.
The decision to initiate the strike was formalized during a crucial meeting of the joint action committee held in Akure, the capital of Ondo State, over the weekend. The unions are resolute in their demand for the prompt payment of the overdue salaries by the Federal Government.
