“Wike Should First Bring Tinubu to PDP Before Preaching to Us” – PDP Group Challenges FCT Minister

A political group, PDP Frontiers for Change and Progress, has called on the Minister of the Federal Capital Territory (FCT), Nyesom Wike, to demonstrate his loyalty to the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) by convincing President Bola Tinubu to join the party. The group made this statement in Umuahia on Tuesday while reacting to Wike’s alleged criticism of the PDP Board of Trustees (BoT) Chairman, Adolphus Wabara, over his praise for Abia State Governor Alex Otti’s achievements.

The group’s national coordinator, Emeka Ikpegbu, argued that Wabara had committed no offense by attempting to woo Otti to the PDP. He challenged Wike, a former Rivers State governor, to prove his commitment to the party by persuading Tinubu, whom he frequently praises, to defect from the ruling All Progressives Congress (APC).

“Wike should first bring his principal, President Bola Tinubu, who he praises every day, to the PDP before preaching to us about anti-party activities,” Ikpegbu stated. “Is there any anti-party action worse than a former PDP governor and presidential aspirant serving as a minister in an APC-led government? How many times has Wike publicly praised Tinubu, yet he has not been sanctioned for anti-party activities? Why is he now lecturing us on how to discipline party members?”

The group urged Wike to stop interfering in the affairs of Wabara and PDP governors, commending them for their firm stance on the Rivers State political crisis. They also praised the party’s BoT for affirming Sunday Ude-Okoye as PDP National Secretary, following the Enugu Court of Appeal’s judgment.

Predicting a stronger future for the PDP ahead of the 2027 elections, the group encouraged party members to resist any attempts at intimidation and to remain steadfast in efforts to reposition the party.
