Wike Appoints New Managing Director for Abuja Investment Company, Terminates Maintenance Contract for International Conference Centre
The Minister of the Federal Capital Territory (FCT), Nyesom Wike, has made significant decisions regarding key positions and infrastructure in Abuja. In an official statement released today, Wike announced the appointment of Maureen Tamuno as the new Managing Director of Abuja Investment Company Limited (AICL).
Describing Tamuno as an experienced public servant, entrepreneur, and diplomat, Wike expressed confidence in her ability to lead AICL effectively. Prior to this appointment, Tamuno served as the Nigerian High Commissioner to Jamaica, Belize, Haiti, and the Dominican Republic.
The statement further confirmed that Tamuno’s appointment would take immediate effect, signaling a swift transition in AICL’s leadership.
In addition to this appointment, Wike also addressed infrastructure concerns by terminating the contract with Messrs Integrated Facility Management Services Ltd for the maintenance of the International Conference Centre (ICC) in Abuja. Effective immediately, this termination comes alongside a new development plan, as Messrs Julius Berger Nig Plc has been contracted for the comprehensive renovation of the ICC.
