Wife Kills Husband, Arrested by Police While Attempting to Flee
The Federal Capital Territory police command has arrested a housewife, Rahimat Salaum, in connection with the murder of her husband in Abuja.
Reports indicate that the incident followed a violent altercation between the couple. According to Josephine Adeh, the FCT Police Public Relations Officer, Salaum attempted to escape with her partially paralysed husband’s belongings but was apprehended by police operatives on July 29, 2024, around 6:00 p.m.
“The operatives of the FCT police command attached to Pegi Police Division, acting on credible intelligence, arrested Rahimat Salaum of Pegi, Abuja, in connection with the killing of her husband,” stated Adeh.
During interrogation, Salaum admitted to the crime and led officers to an uncompleted building where she had disposed of her husband’s gruesomely burned body.
The commissioner of police, FCT, Benneth C. Igweh, has assured the public that justice will be served. He also urged residents to remain vigilant and report any suspicious activities to the police emergency lines provided.
