Why Nedu Left the Honest Bunch Podcast – Glitch Studios Founder Speaks Out
Founder of Glitch Studios, Best Amakhian, has opened up about the circumstances surrounding media personality Nedu’s departure from the widely followed *Honest Bunch* podcast, citing internal discussions and concerns over the controversy that prompted his exit.
Amakhian revealed that following public allegations of sexual exploitation and fraud against Nedu by online personality VeryDarkMan, the podcast’s team made concerted efforts to support the embattled co-host. Multiple meetings were held with Nedu, during which Best and his team proposed a temporary break from the show as a way to manage the crisis and preserve the integrity of the platform. However, Nedu ultimately declined the offer and chose to resign permanently, citing the need to protect his mental health and safeguard the reputation of the show.
“This is a Glitch Africa-owned podcast. We develop content, finance it, and handle its marketing,” Best said during a recent episode. “It’s not our only show — we operate in Ghana, Kenya, and South Africa as well. But when the controversy erupted, we advised Nedu to take a break. We told him we would announce it as a temporary leave to allow time to address the matter. He said that wasn’t the best move for him and opted to leave the show entirely.”
Best expressed disappointment but noted that the team respected Nedu’s decision, emphasizing that professionalism and transparency were crucial for a platform built on honesty. “We owe our audience that much,” he said.
Weeks after Nedu publicly announced his exit, Best said he attempted to rekindle the conversation privately but was met with finality. “I thought maybe we would talk things over later, but he told me he was done and that we should move on.”
“Husband Material”, a co-host of the podcast, also weighed in, confirming Nedu’s decision to step down and acknowledging his right to make that choice. “We have worked together for over a decade. But you can’t force someone to stay. It was a personal decision, and we have to respect that.”
Following Nedu’s exit, the *Honest Bunch* podcast has continued with Daddy Freeze stepping in as a new co-host, marking a new chapter for the show amid ongoing public scrutiny.
