Why it’s difficult for me to work with Davido – Sarz
Lagos, Nigeria – In a recent interview with Cool FM Nigeria, veteran Nigerian music producer Osabuohien Osaretin, popularly known as Sarz, shed light on the obstacles he faces when attempting to collaborate with Afrobeats sensation Davido.
Sarz, known for his exceptional production skills in the Nigerian music scene, shared his experiences of numerous unsuccessful attempts to collaborate with Davido, one of the industry’s brightest stars.
During the interview, Sarz revealed, “Davido and I have worked together, but our collaborations never seem to see the light of day. I believe the way he works and the way I work are fundamentally different, and that’s a significant factor.”
He went on to elaborate, “Many times when I find myself in a session with him, there are just too many people present. I’m accustomed to working closely with the artist and perhaps only two others. So, when there are numerous people, I struggle to concentrate.”
Sarz suggested that this difference in working styles might lead to clashes, saying, “I believe he thrives in that energetic, bustling environment, but for me, it becomes challenging. This is just my perspective; I can’t speak for what he thinks.”
This candid revelation from Sarz offers insight into the dynamics of collaboration within the Nigerian music industry and the challenges that even accomplished artists and producers face when trying to merge their creative processes. Despite the hurdles, fans of both Sarz and Davido will undoubtedly remain hopeful for a potential successful collaboration in the future.
