“Where is the Policy to Communicate? You’re Special Adviser on Nothing” – Atiku’s Aide, Phrank Shaibu Taunts Bwala

Phrank Shaibu, the Special Assistant on Public Communication to former PDP presidential candidate Atiku Abubakar, has criticized Daniel Bwala following his redesignation as President Bola Tinubu’s Special Adviser on Policy Communication.

Shaibu dismissed Bwala’s new role, referring to him as Tinubu’s “Special Adviser on nothing.” He questioned the effectiveness of the role, given that, according to him, the Tinubu administration lacks clear policies to communicate.

In a post on X (formerly Twitter), Shaibu wrote: “Speed without control leads to ruin, but @aonanuga1956, with the relish of an elder, wasted no time in declaring that @BwalaDaniel was, in fact, a Special Adviser on NOTHING. In a government that names someone an S.A. on Policy Communications, one must ask: what policies are there to talk about?”

The comments follow a recent announcement by Tinubu’s Special Adviser on Information and Strategy, Bayo Onanuga, regarding changes to the presidential media team. Onanuga revealed that Sunday Dare, who was previously Special Adviser on Public Communication and National Orientation, is now the Special Adviser on Media and Public Communications. Meanwhile, Bwala, who was initially appointed as Special Adviser on Media and Public Communications, has now been redesignated as Special Adviser on Policy Communication.
