“We’re Concerned About State of Affairs Under Tinubu” — APC State Chairmen

The chairmen of the ruling All Progressives Congress (APC) in all 36 states and the Federal Capital Territory (FCT) have voiced their concerns regarding the state of the country under President Bola Ahmed Tinubu’s administration. The chairmen have resolved to meet with the APC’s National Working Committee (NWC) and the president to address pressing national issues.

Speaking after their meeting in Abuja, Alphonsus Ogar Eba Esq., Secretary of the APC States Chairmen’s Forum and Chairman of Cross River State, revealed that the forum is particularly alarmed by the deteriorating security, widespread hunger, rising poverty, and the continuous hike in fuel and electricity prices affecting Nigerians.

“We discussed matters that impact the success of our APC-led administration under the leadership of President Asiwaju Bola Ahmed Tinubu and Vice President Kashim Shettima,” Eba stated. He emphasized that the chairmen intend to hold a closed-door meeting with the NWC and the federal government to address these pressing concerns, but said it would be premature to disclose further details before the discussions take place.

Addressing the current economic hardship, Eba acknowledged the widespread complaints across the country but stressed the importance of engaging with the federal government to find solutions. He also noted that the forum supports efforts by the party’s NWC, led by Abdullahi Umar Ganduje, to resolve crises in certain state chapters, particularly with the recent extension of the caretaker committee’s tenure in Rivers State.

The forum also praised Minister of the FCT and former governor of Rivers State, Nyesom Wike, for his work in security, infrastructure, and human capital development, but refrained from commenting on underperforming ministers or the possibility of cabinet changes.

As the APC leadership navigates internal and national challenges, all eyes are on their upcoming meetings to see how these critical issues will be addressed.
