We will work with Jandor to win for our party – Doherty
Former State Chairman of Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) in Lagos State and a Co-contestant in the last gubernatorial primaries, Eng. Adedeji Doherty,
has declared that all structures associated with his gubernatorial campaign across the state will immediately rally behind Dr. Abdul-Azeez Olajide Adediran for the People’s Democratic Party (PDP) to emerge victorious at the forthcoming 2023 governorship election in Lagos State.
Dr. Adediran popularly known as Jandor had emerged as the PDP flagbearer for Lagos State at the party’s primary held recently.
Doherty made the declaration, when he received Jandor who paid a courtesy visit to him at his palatial residence in the elite WEMABOD estate in Ikeja.
Doherty said he was ready and determined to give Jandor the necessary support as the candidate of the party.
He said that since Jandor had emerged as the candidate of the party, what is left was for all committed leaders to galvanise their followers towards mobilising support for him to win the general election for the party.
He charged all leaders to set aside their differences for the sake of the party and their teeming members, saying his joy would be to see Jandor as a candidate becoming the governor of Lagos state.
Doherty said: “I have seen many candidates of our party and I am tired of seeing candidates who don’t become Governor. So, my joy will be, in Jandor, not just being our candidate but going ahead to win for our party when we go to the general election in 2023”.
According to Doherty, the race for the ticket of the party is over and it’s time for all members to get to work.
Jandor had in his address declared that he was at Doherty’s residence to pay his respect to him as an outstanding politician and committed leader of the PDP in Lagos State.
The PDP candidate noted that the past contests for the party’s tickets may have caused the aspirants and their supporters ruffling feathers, saying that it was time to forgive ourselves and work together for PDP to win the state.
He expressed delight for the warm welcome he received on his visit to Doherty, promising that he was determined to work with all tendencies in the party and give everyone a sense of belonging during the campaign and when he eventually gets into government.
