“We Are Ready for the Fight” – Kwankwaso Accuses FG of Plotting Against Kano
Senator Rabi’u Musa Kwankwaso, the Presidential Candidate of the New Nigeria Peoples Party (NNPP) in the 2023 elections, has accused the Federal Government, led by the All Progressive Congress (APC), of following the ill advice of Kano State’s adversaries.
Kwankwaso’s remarks came in response to the ongoing emirate dispute, where federal security agencies have supported the deposed Emir of Kano, Alhaji Aminu Ado Bayero. Speaking at the inauguration of an 82-kilometer rural road project in his hometown of Madobi, Kwankwaso emphasized that the people of Kano would resist any attempt to destabilize their state’s authority.
“We have mass followership because people believe in us. We are pro-people, and the NNPP administration is determined to serve them wherever they vote for us,” Kwankwaso asserted.
He warned that any efforts to disrupt the state’s peaceful coexistence would be met with resistance. “We will support the governor to succeed and will not fold our arms while enemies of the state try to destroy Kano. Those advising the Federal Government to declare a State of Emergency in Kano are mentally unstable. The peace-loving people of Kano will resist this madness.”
Kwankwaso also addressed the political landscape leading up to the 2027 elections, indicating that the NNPP is ready to confront any political adversaries. “We dare anyone who thinks they can politically victimize us. We are ready for the fight,” he declared. “We are not afraid to be out of power. We know what is good for us and will pursue it vigorously.”
He further criticized the Federal Government for listening to unpatriotic politicians from Kano, suggesting that this would lead to its downfall. “The people of Kano will resist any attempt to undermine the Governor’s constitutional responsibilities,” he added.
Kwankwaso concluded by stating that while the NNPP is open to dialogue and reconciliation, they will not tolerate intimidation or political harassment. “We know how to play politics and have the means to protect ourselves from any harm,” he warned
