“We are raising monsters in the South East without knowing it” — Joe Igbokwe
APC chieftain, Joe Igbokwe, has raised concerns about what he describes as a decline in social values among youths in Nigeria’s South-East.
In a Facebook post, Igbokwe said the region is producing young people who, in his view, lack proper upbringing and cultural grounding. He claimed that many of them show little regard for traditional values and frequently engage in offensive exchanges on social media.
He also criticised what he described as a growing trend of online attacks directed at public officials, including the President.
The remarks have added to ongoing public conversations about youth behaviour, cultural change, and political expression in the South-East.
