“I’ll never go to Arise TV until Rufai Oseni is removed” — Joe Igbokwe reacts to clash between Minister Umahi and presenter
APC Chieftain Joe Igbokwe has declared that he will no longer appear on Arise Television until one of its presenters, Rufai Oseni, is removed from the station.
Igbokwe made the statement in reaction to a heated exchange between the Minister of Works, David Umahi, and Oseni during an interview on *The Morning Show* on Monday. In a widely circulated video, Umahi became visibly angry over questions posed by Oseni concerning the Lagos-Calabar Coastal Road project. The minister, who described himself as a professor of engineering with extensive experience in federal projects, asked the presenter to “keep quiet” during the session.
Oseni, however, pressed further, asking Umahi to clarify the year he attained the rank of professor, a question that appeared to intensify the confrontation.
Reacting to the incident, Igbokwe took to Facebook to express his disapproval of Oseni’s conduct and the station’s handling of such interviews. He wrote that he would “never go there again until Rufai Oseni is removed,” accusing the presenter of bringing disrepute to journalism.
“The Animal Science graduate is making a mockery of journalism. Television station is not a place for mediocres and noise makers,” Igbokwe stated, describing Arise TV as having “become a station of anything goes.”
