Virtual Call: Tinubu Boosts Super Eagles Morale Ahead of Crucial AFCON Clash

President Bola Tinubu has delivered a motivational address to the Super Eagles, urging them to secure victory in their upcoming Africa Cup of Nations (AFCON) quarter-final against Angola.

Seyi Tinubu, the president’s son, shared exclusive Instagram stories featuring videos of the president donning the Eagles’ home jersey and addressing the team through a virtual call.

In the videos, Tinubu passionately encouraged the players, emphasizing the importance of the match scheduled to take place at the Felix Houphouet-Boigny Stadium in Abidjan, Ivory Coast, on Friday at 6 pm.

Stanley Nwabali, recovering from an injury sustained in the second-round clash against Cameroon, has been given the green light to start as the goalkeeper for Nigeria. Head coach Jose Peseiro maintains the team’s familiar 3-4-3 formation, with William Troost-Ekong, Semi Ajayi, and Calvin Bassey providing defensive cover for Nwabali.

Ola Aina and Zaidu Sanusi will take up the wing-back roles on the right and left flanks, while the midfield will be orchestrated by the duo of Alex Iwobi and Frank Onyeka.

The formidable attacking trio of Victor Osimhen, Moses Simon, and Ademola Lookman, spearheaded by the current Africa Player of the Year, will be entrusted with breaking down Angola’s defense. The nation eagerly awaits the outcome of this crucial AFCON showdown.
