VeryDarkMan Released After Arrest for Exposing Alleged Fraudster
Popular Nigerian blogger and social media influencer, Martins Vincent Otse, known as VeryDarkMan, was released just hours after being arrested by police on Sunday. The Commissioner of Police for the Federal Capital Territory, Mr. Benneth Igwe, confirmed his release.
VeryDarkMan had been detained earlier that day, reportedly for exposing an individual accused of defrauding a Nigerian citizen abroad. His lawyer, Mr. Deji Adeyanju, announced the arrest, criticizing the police for targeting his client instead of the alleged fraudster.
In a post on X, Adeyanju stated, “Our client, @thatverydarkman, was arrested by the police on the instruction of CP Igwe for exposing someone who allegedly duped a Nigerian abroad. Instead of arresting the accused, they detained VDM on defamation allegations.”
