UNN Elects Acting Vice-Chancellor: Romanus Ezeokonkwo Takes the Helm
In a recent development at the University of Nigeria Nsukka (UNN), Romanus Ezeokonkwo, a professor and the current Deputy Vice-Chancellor, Administration, has been elected as the acting Vice-Chancellor. This election follows the conclusion of Charles Igwe’s five-year tenure, which ends on June 10.
The university’s spokesperson, Okwun Omeaku, announced the results in a statement issued after the 422nd session of the Senate in Nsukka on Friday. According to Mr. Omeaku, Professor Ezeokonkwo secured the acting Vice-Chancellor position with 200 votes in the Senate’s election. He triumphed over Professor Johnson Urama, Deputy Vice-Chancellor, Academic, who garnered 180 votes, and Professor Daniel Nwachukwu, Deputy Vice-Chancellor of the University of Nigeria Enugu Campus, who received 25 votes.
