FULL LIST: Chidi Odinkalu Named Pro-Chancellor and Chairman of Chukwuemeka Odumegwu Ojukwu University Governing Board

Governor Charles Soludo has appointed a new Governing Council for Chukwuemeka Odumegwu Ojukwu University (COOU) in Igbariam, Anambra State. This new council is expected to drive the university towards further growth and excellence through strategic leadership and oversight.

Prominent human rights advocate and academic, Professor Chidi Odinkalu, has been named the Pro-Chancellor and Chairman of the council. This appointment places Professor Odinkalu at the helm of the university’s governance, leveraging his extensive experience and dedication to educational and institutional integrity.

Joining him on the council are notable figures including Chief (Mrs) Ifeoma Ekwueme, Ambassador Bianca Odumegwu-Ojukwu, Chief Christopher Ndubuisi, and HRH Oranu Chris Chidume. Each member brings a wealth of experience and a commitment to the university’s mission.

According to a statement released by Christian Aburime, Chief Press Secretary to Governor Soludo, the formation of this new council reflects the governor’s commitment to enhancing the quality of education and governance in Anambra State. The statement, issued on June 4, 2024, emphasized the council’s role in providing guidance and oversight for the continued development of COOU.
