Trump to Celebrate 80th Birthday with UFC Cage Fight at the White House
United States President Donald Trump is planning to celebrate his 80th birthday in an unusual way — by hosting a UFC-style cage fight on the White House lawn. The event, scheduled for June 14 next year, will mark his milestone birthday with a spectacle that blends politics, sport, and showmanship.
Trump made the announcement during a speech in Virginia, telling supporters that the celebration would showcase American strength and entertainment. Known for his admiration of mixed martial arts, the former president has attended several UFC events and maintains a close friendship with the organisation’s president, Dana White, who is expected to play a major role in organising the occasion.
Reports indicate that a full-size UFC octagon will be set up on the South Lawn of the White House, complete with viewing stands and an arched entrance for fighters. The UFC is said to have agreed to spend about $700,000 restoring the grounds after the event.
The weigh-in ceremony for fighters is expected to take place at the Lincoln Memorial, roughly two kilometres from the White House, creating a dramatic backdrop for fans and media coverage.
Trump had previously linked the idea of a martial arts showcase to the 250th anniversary of America’s independence, but it remains unclear why he has now tied it to his birthday. Still, the former president’s plan has generated significant buzz in political and sporting circles, with many describing it as a classic example of his flair for spectacle and publicity.
If the plans proceed, Trump’s 80th birthday could easily become one of the most talked-about celebrations in recent American history.
