Tragedy: Two Children Electrocuted, Mother Hospitalized in Lagos

In a heart-wrenching incident that unfolded in the Mushin area of Lagos State, an unidentified mother is now fighting for her life as she grapples with the loss of her two children to a shocking electrocution tragedy. The incident occurred on a fateful Thursday, sending shockwaves throughout the community.

The victims of this tragic incident were a 10-year-old girl and her 7-year-old brother. They met their untimely demise while attempting to turn on the television shortly after returning from school. Sources within the area revealed that their parents, at the time of the incident, were either absent or inside their home, unaware of the impending disaster.

Upon discovering the fate of their beloved children, the parents were plunged into a state of despair. The mother, overcome by the profound grief of losing her two young ones, fainted and is currently fighting for her life in a hospital.

Toyosi, a resident of the area, described the incident as an act of sheer tragedy, stating, “I heard that it was after school on Thursday; the girl was trying to turn on the TV from the socket when she got electrocuted. Without even knowing what had happened to his older sister, the younger boy went to touch her, he too got electrocuted. They stayed at that spot until the light was taken and then they fell. I heard the woman is still at the hospital. She has yet to recover from the shock. We heard that when people went to visit her, she couldn’t talk, she couldn’t cry, she just sat at a spot, looking.”

Another anonymous resident disclosed that the grieving mother had a third child, a baby she was breastfeeding, further compounding the family’s tragedy as they mourn the loss of their older siblings. The community is left in mourning, grappling with the heavy burden of this devastating incident that has left one mother’s world shattered and two young lives tragically cut short.
