“Tinubu’s Cabinet Member from Rivers State Planning to Contest Against him in 2027” – Ehie
Edison Ehie, Chief of State to Governor Sim Fubara of Rivers State, has claimed that a member of President Bola Tinubu’s cabinet is planning to contest against Tinubu in the 2027 presidential election.
Ehie alleged that the cabinet member, who hails from Rivers State, has been holding secret meetings to strategize his campaign. Despite these developments, Ehie reassured that both Governor Fubara and the people of Rivers State remain steadfast in their support for President Tinubu, urging the cabinet member to wait until after Tinubu’s expected eight-year tenure.
Speaking at a youth empowerment program in Port Harcourt, Ehie stated, “Mr. President is committed to Nigeria’s development, and Governor Fubara is collaborating closely with him to ensure progress in Rivers State. We maintain a harmonious relationship between the federal and state levels.”
Ehie continued, “We are aware that certain individuals within Mr. President’s cabinet are making plans to challenge him in 2027 through clandestine meetings. Governor Fubara has reiterated that Rivers State stands firmly with Mr. President. Any Rivers State native with presidential aspirations should wait until after 2031. The president’s two terms and Governor Fubara’s two terms are secure.”
