Tinubu’s Appointees Allegedly Plotting His Removal as President, Implicated in El-Rufai, Bello’s Predicaments, Claims APC Chieftain

In a recent development within the All Progressives Congress (APC), allegations have emerged concerning a purported power struggle and clandestine moves against prominent party figures. Jesutega Onokpasa, a notable APC chieftain, has raised concerns over what he perceives as internal machinations aimed at undermining the tenure of President Bola Tinubu and promoting selfish interests within the party hierarchy.

Onokpasa, a legal practitioner and former member of the APC Presidential Campaign Council for Asiwaju Bola Tinubu, voiced his grievances in a video address to party members. He accused certain appointees of President Tinubu of orchestrating a campaign to oust him from office prematurely, allegedly with the ulterior motive of advancing their own ambitions.

The chieftain lamented what he described as a trend of hypocrisy, sabotage, and anti-party activities within the APC, pointing to the ongoing challenges faced by former governors Yahaya Bello of Kogi State and Nasir El-Rufai of Kaduna State. Onokpasa went as far as to invoke curses upon those he accused of harboring ill intentions towards Tinubu, warning them of dire consequences if they did not desist.

Central to his allegations is the assertion that certain appointees in Tinubu’s administration are actively working to undermine the reputations and political standing of key party figures, including El-Rufai and Bello. He suggested that these individuals are pursuing a sinister agenda to pave the way for their own ascension to power, at the expense of the party’s unity and stability.

While Onokpasa acknowledged the need for accountability and transparency, particularly in light of recent controversies surrounding figures like Bello and the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC), he emphasized the importance of due process and fair treatment within the party ranks. He condemned what he perceived as selective prosecution and personal vendettas, vowing to uphold the principles of justice and integrity within the APC.

In a scathing rebuke, Onokpasa criticized the purported high-handedness of a specific appointee, accusing them of orchestrating subversive activities and even financing opposition candidates during elections. He called for unity and solidarity among party members, urging them to remain vigilant against any attempts to undermine the collective interests of the APC.
