“Tinubu Will Get 100% Votes in South-East in 2027” — Onyejeocha
Minister of State for Labour and Employment, Nkeiruka Onyejeocha, has expressed confidence that President Bola Tinubu will secure overwhelming support from the South-East in the 2027 general elections. Onyejeocha said the region would vote en bloc for Tinubu, citing his ongoing reforms as a strong basis for improved performance compared to the 2023 elections.
Speaking with journalists during the 18th edition of her free medical and surgery outreach at the Nkeiruka Onyejeocha Medical Centre in Amuda-Isuochi, Umunneochi Local Government Area of Abia State, she maintained that Tinubu’s policies are laying foundations that require continuity beyond a single term.
“Tinubu will surely return by God’s grace in 2027 because the reforms he has embarked on are not things that can be cut short after four years. For them to endure and have root, for people to enjoy them, we have to support him to do eight years,” she said. “We are supporting our president, and I know that he will get 100 per cent votes in the South-East. Abia is a progressive state and I know my party, the APC, will do well here.”
Onyejeocha, a former House of Representatives member representing Umunneochi/Isuikwuato Federal Constituency, also highlighted her commitment to community health through her annual outreach programme. She explained that the initiative, which began as a week-long event, was extended this year due to the high turnout of residents seeking medical care.
She said the project was driven by her passion to improve the wellbeing of rural and underserved communities, stressing that healthy citizens were essential for social and economic progress. “It’s not like you are helping the government, I’m helping myself because a healthy community is a wealthy community. If you have a lot of sick people, you won’t get much, because every weekend you’ll be attending burials. The government is doing well, but as a minister I should be adding value because government cannot do it alone,” she added.
The outreach featured free cervical cancer screening, laboratory services, dental care, and surgeries for conditions such as hernia, hydrocele, cataract and lipoma.
