Tinubu Nominates Three Members for Code of Conduct Bureau Board
President Bola Ahmed Tinubu has nominated three individuals to fill vacant positions on the board of the Code of Conduct Bureau (CCB). The nominations were announced on Tuesday through a formal letter addressed to the Senate President by Tinubu’s media aide, Bayo Onanuga.
The nominees are Alhaji Fatai Ibikunle from Oyo State, retired Federal High Court judge Justice Ibrahim Buba, and Kennedy Ikpeme from Cross River State.
The Code of Conduct Bureau, established in 1979, plays a pivotal role in promoting integrity within the public service and ensuring adherence to ethical standards. The Bureau’s board is composed of ten members.
President Tinubu had previously sworn in the board’s chairman, Dr. Abdullahi Usman Bello, on October 23, 2024. The current members of the board include Barr. Muritala Aliyu Kankia, Hon. E J Agbomayinma, Barr. Ben Umeano, Prof. Juwayriyya Badamasiuy, Mr. Bulus I. Zephaniah, and Hon. Abdulsalam Taofiq Olawale.
These latest nominations aim to strengthen the Bureau’s capacity to fulfill its mandate effectively.
