Tinubu Holds Crucial Meeting with APC Governors at Aso Rock
President Bola Tinubu is currently in a closed-door meeting with governors elected under the banner of the All Progressives Congress (APC). The high-stakes gathering is taking place at the council chambers of the presidential villa in the federal capital territory (FCT).
As of the time of this report, the specific agenda for the meeting remains undisclosed, leaving political observers and the public curious about the subjects under discussion.
This meeting unfolds against the backdrop of the recent suspension of Betta Edu from her role as the Minister of Humanitarian Affairs and Poverty Alleviation. Edu faced suspension following allegations related to a directive involving funds deposited into a private account.
The Progressives Governors Forum (PGF), comprising APC governors, recently commented on the matter, emphasizing that the accusations against Edu are currently categorized as “allegations.” Hope Uzodinma, the PGF Chair, urged Nigerians not to rush to conclusions based solely on the allegations.
“The functions of government include encouraging good things and good appointees, and discouraging bad things and bad appointees; the case against Edu is just an allegation,” stated Governor Uzodinma after a PGF meeting on Thursday.
He further explained, “In the wisdom of the president, she is being investigated. It is after the investigation is concluded, and the report made available to the government, that a final decision will be made.”
Governor Uzodinma affirmed the PGF’s commitment to enhancing national security and improving the welfare of Nigerians, signaling their determination to address pressing issues affecting the nation.
