Tinubu Confirms Adewale Adeniyi as Customs CG
President Bola Tinubu officially appointed Adewale Adeniyi as the Comptroller-General of the Nigeria Customs Service (NCS) on Friday. This confirmation comes after Adeniyi had been serving in an acting capacity since June, following the departure of Hameed Ali.
According to a statement released by Willie Bassey, the Director of Information and Secretary to the Government of the Federation, Adeniyi’s appointment became effective on October 19, 2023. President Tinubu, in his directive, emphasized the importance of Adeniyi leveraging his extensive experience as he embarks on his new role, aligning with the regulations stipulated in the Public Service Rules (PSR).
Adeniyi’s ascendancy to the position of Comptroller-General of the NCS signals a new chapter in the service’s leadership, and it will be closely watched for the impact and changes he brings to this critical sector.
