JUST IN: Tinubu Appoints New Auditor-General of the Federation
President Bola Tinubu has officially named Mr. Shaakaa Chira as the newly appointed Auditor-General of the Federation, following the recommendations made by the Federal Civil Service Commission (FCSC).
In a statement released today by Ajuri Ngelale, it was revealed that President Tinubu granted his approval for Chira’s appointment after the FCSC meticulously conducted a screening exercise. This process identified Mr. Chira as the most qualified candidate, who not only met the rigorous criteria but also achieved the highest score in the examination among all the candidates vying for this crucial role.
With this appointment, President Tinubu has placed great trust in Mr. Chira, expecting him to demonstrate his competence and integrity in fulfilling the high expectations that Nigerians hold for the successful execution of the Renewed Hope Agenda under the current administration.
President Tinubu’s decision to appoint Mr. Chira aligns with the powers vested in him by Section 86 of the 1999 Constitution as Amended. This move reaffirms the commitment of the government to upholding transparency, accountability, and good governance. Mr. Chira’s new role as Auditor-General of the Federation will undoubtedly play a pivotal role in these efforts.
