“This Picture Would Give Sleepless Night to Peter Obi” – Daniel Bwala
Daniel Bwala has criticized 2023 Labour Party presidential candidate Peter Obi following a high-profile meeting between ex-President Olusegun Obasanjo and First Lady Remi Tinubu.
Bwala suggested that a photograph capturing Obasanjo with Tinubu’s wife would cause Obi considerable concern. This meeting, which took place on Monday, saw Obasanjo visiting Remi Tinubu to pay Sallah homage. Notably, the former President was spotted days earlier wearing a cap bearing President Bola Tinubu’s insignia.
Despite belonging to different political parties, Obasanjo and Tinubu both hail from the Southwest. During the 2023 presidential election, Obasanjo supported Obi, even after Tinubu and some Afenifere leaders sought his endorsement.
Bwala, reacting to the recent meeting on social media platform X, claimed that several Pentecostal bishops have also withdrawn their support for Obi. He wrote: “This picture would give sleepless night to Mr P alias ‘Greengory.’ @PeterObi. I personally know of three prominent Pentecostal Bishops that have also abandoned him and his ‘take back your country hate speech.’ My big uncle Pat Utomi would soon abandon him too. Mark my words.”
