“They Turned Me Into an Only Son Overnight — No Soul in Their Family Will Cross 34” — Nigerian Man Curses Killers of Brother, Pregnant Wife

Cornell Israel, a heartbroken Nigerian man, has cried out in grief and rage after the brutal killing of his only brother, Obinna, and pregnant sister-in-law, Ifeyinwa, by unknown gunmen in Arondizuogu, Ideato North Local Government Area of Imo State.

The couple, both aged 34, were among seven people shot dead on the night of Thursday, July 24, 2025. The victims included shop owners, their customers, and passersby caught in the sudden attack.

In a deeply emotional Facebook post on Thursday, August 7, Cornell revealed that Ifeyinwa was pregnant with the couple’s fifth child. Their four other children are now left orphaned.

Still struggling to comprehend the tragedy, Cornell cursed those behind the killings, declaring that no member of their families would live beyond 34 years.

“Obinna, my only brother from the same womb and your wife, you were my second in command in our lovely family,” he wrote. “We planned how to carry out our new project this August before bandits shot you to death with your wife and others right in your shop at Arondizuogu.”

He recounted how the news reached him at 2 a.m., and how he rushed to the scene the next morning, only to find their lifeless bodies.

“It wasn’t your fault,” he continued. “Had it been you were sick, money would bring you back to life. Had it been they shot you on the leg, I know where I would take you to and treat you… but they turned me into an only son overnight.”

With anguish, he cursed the attackers: “It will never be well with them even to their sixth generation. No soul in their family will cross 34 years of age. May your blood, your wife’s, and that of her unborn child cry against them.”

Obinna and Ifeyinwa will be laid to rest on Friday, August 8, in their hometown in Abia State.
