The Fear the Ruling Party Has for Atiku Is Why I’m Supporting Him – Dele Momodu
Veteran journalist and publisher of *Ovation International*, Dele Momodu, has explained his decision to back former Vice President Atiku Abubakar ahead of the 2027 presidential election, stating that the fear the ruling party holds for Atiku is a clear indication of his political strength.
Speaking during an interview on Channels Television on Thursday, Momodu also confirmed his defection from the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) to the African Democratic Congress (ADC), describing the move as a strategic political decision.
“The fear the ruling party has for Atiku is why I’m supporting him,” Momodu said. “Everybody is afraid of Atiku, and that is exactly why I, Dele Momodu, support him. When everyone is trying to discredit or silence a man, it means he’s the one they truly fear.”
He described Atiku as the most formidable opposition figure in Nigeria today, noting that despite repeated efforts to undermine his credibility, the former vice president remains a central figure in national politics.
Momodu, who contested the presidency in 2011 and later joined the PDP, where he participated in the party’s 2022 primaries, emphasized that his support for Atiku transcends party lines and is rooted in a clear understanding of Nigeria’s political realities.
While now aligning with the ADC, Momodu made it clear that his loyalty to Atiku’s 2027 ambition remains firm, calling on Nigerians to recognize leadership beyond political propaganda.
