Tension as APC Leader Shot Dead by Unknown Gunmen
A leader of the All Progressives Congress (APC) in Benue State, Hon. Ejeh Udeh, has been shot dead by unidentified gunmen at his residence in Otukpo.
Witnesses said the assailants arrived on a motorcycle around midnight on Monday, September 22, 2025, and laid ambush until Udeh returned home. The attackers reportedly surrounded him as he stepped into his compound and opened fire at close range, killing him in front of his wife and children.
Residents of the area said they were startled by sporadic gunshots that pierced the night and triggered panic across the neighbourhood. By the time neighbours rushed to the scene, Udeh was already lying in a pool of blood. His remains were later taken to the morgue at the Otukpo General Hospital.
Efforts to get confirmation from the Benue State Police Command were unsuccessful, as the Public Relations Officer, SP Anene Sewusese, did not respond to calls or messages as of press time.
