Suspected Ritual Killer Reveals Shocking Details of Using Hookup Apps to Lure Seven Women to Their Deaths
In a chilling revelation, a 32-year-old suspected ritual killer apprehended by the Ogun State Police Command confessed to his involvement in a ritualist gang specializing in the gruesome killing of women. The suspect disclosed that he and his accomplices utilized a popular dating application to lure seven unsuspecting victims to their tragic fate.
According to the apprehended suspect, who had been on the run before his arrest, he joined the ritualist gang in September 2023 and actively participated in the murder of seven women. The modus operandi involved using a hookup app named MyChat to initiate conversations with women when clients required specific body parts for ritualistic purposes.
“I just talk to them that I want to hook up with them whenever a client contacted me that they needed human body parts,” the suspect explained. He detailed the negotiation process with the victims upon request by his clients, where he would agree on the amount and then instruct the victims to meet him in the Atan-Ota area of the state.
The gruesome acts took place in the suspect’s house in Igbo Olomi, Atan-Ota, where the victims were killed inside the sitting room. The suspect, however, claimed ignorance about the ultimate use of the victims’ bodies, stating, “I don’t know what they use the corpses of the ladies for; my job is just to source for the ladies and bring them in.”
The suspect further revealed that he would receive payments ranging from N30,000 to N40,000 for sourcing the unfortunate victims. When asked about the destination of the body parts, he insisted, “I don’t know who they sell the body parts to, and I don’t ask them about it; my own is just to source for the ladies and collect my money.”
Ogun State Commissioner of Police, Abiodun Alamutu, disclosed that the suspects collaborated with an herbalist to carry out the ritualistic killings. The victims were reportedly strangled to death, and their bodies dismembered for sale to the herbalist and another accomplice who is currently evading arrest.
The commissioner urged the public, particularly those with missing relatives, to report to the police with photographs for identification purposes. Alamutu emphasized the dangers of social media platforms, cautioning the youth against engaging in risky behaviors that may lead to tragic consequences.
The police are working diligently to identify the victims, and members of the public have been urged to cooperate with the ongoing investigation.
