Super Eagles Coach Finidi Names Two foreigners, Amokachi as Assistants
Finidi George, the newly appointed head coach of the Super Eagles, has unveiled his coaching team, which includes two foreign assistants alongside former teammate Daniel Amokachi.
The announcement came during Finidi’s official unveiling by the Nigerian Football Federation (NFF) earlier today, Monday, May 13th. While the identities of the two foreign assistants were not immediately disclosed, it is expected that they will be revealed prior to the Super Eagles’ crucial 2026 FIFA World Cup qualifying matches against South Africa’s Bafana Bafana and Benin’s Squirrels.
Additionally, Finidi opted to retain Olatunji Baruwa, who served as the goalkeeper’s trainer under the previous head coach, Jose Peseiro.
In preparation for his new role, Finidi formally resigned from his position as head coach of Enyimba on Sunday, May 12th, underlining his commitment to leading the Super Eagles to success on the international stage.
