Students Shot as Gun Violence Erupts Again at Lifecamp Government Secondary School in FCT

Three students have reportedly been shot at Lifecamp Government Secondary School in Abuja, Federal Capital Territory (FCT). The assailants, described as “bad boys,” allegedly entered the school premises armed with guns, marking a concerning rise in violence within the educational institution.

A reliable source disclosed that the incident unfolded on Thursday, adding that such gun-related violence has become a distressing annual occurrence at the school. The source expressed dismay over the apparent lack of intervention and preventative measures, stating, “This shouldn’t be happening in the heart of Abuja by small children, and nobody is doing or saying anything. It seems to be a trend every year; something deadly must happen in that school.”

The incident took place a mere 500 meters away from the residence of the Minister of the Federal Capital Territory, Nyesom Wike, raising questions about the overall security situation in the vicinity. The source emphasized the gravity of the situation, noting the delayed response from law enforcement: “Bad boys came to school with guns to fight; three students were shot, and the police came late.”

“Lifecamp Government Secondary School is directly opposite Lifecamp Police Station and about 500 meters from the residence of the FCT Minister. This is a repeat of what happened yesterday. It happens regularly,” the source added, painting a vivid picture of the recurring menace faced by students and their families.

As the school comes to terms with the aftermath, parents are reportedly in anguish, with scenes of blood-stained premises and inconsolable cries echoing through the corridors of Lifecamp Government Secondary School. Despite these distressing events, the FCT Police Command’s spokesperson, Josephine Adeh, remained unreachable at the time of filing this report, leaving concerned citizens awaiting official statements on the matter. The incident raises critical questions about the safety of students and the need for urgent, decisive action to curb the alarming trend of violence within the school.
