Step Aside, Allow Tinubu to Complete His 8 Years – Rep Tells Atiku, Obi
A member of the House of Representatives, Dr Wale Ahmed, has urged opposition leaders, including former Vice President Atiku Abubakar and ex-presidential candidate Peter Obi, to step aside in 2027 and allow President Bola Tinubu to secure a second term. Speaking at a stakeholders’ meeting in Agege, Lagos, Ahmed said Tinubu’s re-election was assured, stressing that the President’s reforms had set Nigeria on the path to economic recovery and international respect.
The lawmaker argued that since former President Muhammadu Buhari from the North was allowed to serve two full terms, it would only be fair for Tinubu, representing the South, to do the same. He described the removal of fuel subsidy as a bold and necessary step that had strengthened foreign reserves, boosted investor confidence, reduced inflation and enabled the rollout of student loans.
Highlighting infrastructure projects, Ahmed pointed to the Lagos–Calabar Coastal Highway, the Sokoto–Badagry Superhighway and the rehabilitation of the Abuja–Kano dual carriageway as evidence of Tinubu’s commitment to development. He said the projects would connect communities and unlock new economic opportunities across states.
On his performance as a representative, Ahmed listed youth and women empowerment programmes, installation of boreholes and streetlights, medical outreaches, classroom construction, food palliatives, scholarships and skill acquisition schemes as part of his contributions to his constituency.
The event was attended by Agege Local Government Chairman Abdulganiyu Obasa, Orile Agege LCDA Chairman Abiodun Idowu, traditional rulers, market leaders and community representatives, many of whom praised Ahmed for his service delivery and pledged continued support for the administration.
