Soludo Extends Olive Branch to Obi: “Labour Party is in Shambles, Return to APGA”
Governor Charles Soludo has once again extended an invitation to Peter Obi to return to the All Progressives Grand Alliance (APGA), expressing sympathy for Obi’s current political situation. This took place during the funeral mass of the late Bonaventure Emeka Okolo at the Sacred Heart Church in Okunu Eziora Ozubulu.
In his address, Soludo referred to his earlier advice from March 2022, encouraging Obi to rejoin APGA to contest the 2023 Presidential election. Soludo underscored the crucial role APGA plays in the political landscape for Ndigbo’s engagement with the wider Nigerian polity.
“Labour Party is currently in shambles,” Soludo stated. “I sympathize with you, Peter. Whenever you’re ready, we will welcome you back to APGA.”
Soludo’s comments highlight his view on the challenges faced by Obi since his departure from APGA to join the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) and later the Labour Party (LP). According to Soludo, the Labour Party has not yielded the desired results for Obi.
By reiterating his open invitation, Soludo emphasizes his belief in APGA’s significance and potential benefits for Obi’s political career if he decides to return. The ball is now in Obi’s court.
