Sokoto State Police Confirm Abduction of 15 Almajiri Students, Woman in Gidan Bakuso
The Sokoto State Police Command has officially verified the abduction of 15 Almajiri students and a woman from Gidan Bakuso in the Gada Local Government Area of the state.
According to ASP Ahmad Rufa’i, the spokesperson for the command, the abduction occurred in the early hours of Saturday, with the assailants exploiting the remote location of the village to carry out their nefarious act.
Rufa’i highlighted the challenge security agencies face due to the lack of access roads to certain villages, stating, “The lack of access road hindered a swift response today.” Despite this setback, he affirmed that the command’s tactical team is actively engaged in efforts to rescue the victims, emphasizing that security agencies are in control of the situation.
“The isolated location of the village poses a great challenge for security agencies to quickly respond. Nevertheless, the command’s tactical team is fully mobilised to rescue the victims and bring the criminals to justice,” assured Rufa’i.
He called on the public to collaborate with security agencies by providing any pertinent information that could aid the ongoing operation. Stressing the importance of a collective effort, he asserted that the security agencies were dedicated to rescuing the abducted individuals and urged the affected community’s residents to remain assured of their commitment to this cause.
