Six Family Members Killed in Abuja-Lokoja Highway Crash
Six people, including a couple, lost their lives in a tragic accident on Sunday at Ahoko Bridge along the Abuja-Lokoja highway. The victims, identified as Hajiya Fatima Ahmed Usman, her husband Alhaji Muhammad Usman, and four of their relatives, were traveling from Toto town in Nasarawa State to Kotonkarfe for a burial when the crash occurred.
According to eyewitnesses, the accident happened at approximately 12:34 p.m. when a trailer struck their unmarked Honda car from behind, causing the vehicle to veer off the road and somersault into a ditch. All six occupants reportedly died on the spot.
It was learned that Muhammad Usman was a chairmanship aspirant in the November 2024 Toto Local Government Area election. Following the accident, the remains of the victims were transported by ambulance to Toto for burial.
